McMaster Staff Programs

As a community, McMaster University is dedicated to the pursuit of lifelong learning and skill development. The Tuition Assistance Program is an expression of the dedication and emphasis the University places on helping employees achieve their professional potential and enhance their capabilities.

The Tuition Assistance benefit is currently close to $3,500 per employee per academic year (September-August).

If you would like to learn more about the tuition assistance program or are unsure of your eligibility, please contact your HR representative.

When registering for Continuing Education courses, employees do not have to pay up front as they would when taking courses at another institution. After completing the Tuition Assistance Form, employees simply enrol in continuing education certificate and diploma courses and pay only for student fees and any required textbooks.

If an application is required, McMaster staff must first apply and be accepted to the program before applying for tuition assistance.

McMaster employees also have the opportunity to participate in professional development courses funded by the Human Resources Department at no cost to them or their own department, including Essentials, Personal Leaders, Knowledge Leaders and Strategic Leaders.
