Cole Gately is a part-time instructor at McMaster University
and Mohawk College, and is a faculty member at Hamilton’s Neighbourhood
Leadership Institute. He works full-time in Hamilton’s homelessness sector as a
community-based educator focusing on frontline workers serving Hamilton’s
homeless population. Prior to this he worked for 12 years as Street Outreach
Coordinator at City of Hamilton and has earned a Master of Arts degree in Adult
Education and Community Development from the Ontario Institute in Education
(OISE) at the University of Toronto.
Since the late 80s, Cole has been a
community activist involved in a range of intersecting social movements,
including anti-poverty, anti-racist, feminist, LGBTQ and sex worker rights.
