Mental Health First Aid


This 12 hour interactive training is run over two days. You will learn how to recognize, respond and support mental health wellness. The primary goal of the workshop is to increase mental health awareness, decrease stigma, and provide basic intervention skills and techniques. You will learn a model designed to provide mental health first aid. You will also learn the importance of promoting good mental health.

The four most common mental health related disorders will be explored:

  • Substance use
  • Mood
  • Anxiety and trauma
  • Psychotic disorders

Who should take this course? 

  • Adults interacting with adults (18 years and older).
    *Previous experience working in mental health is not required. 

Certificate Requirements

  • Upon successful completion, participants receive a certificate from the certifying body. 
  • Full attendance for all 12 hours is required to receive the certificate.

A participant workbook is included in the registration fee.
