The 2011 Ontario Government Labour Market Report posts good prospects for adults with a post secondary diploma in accounting such as McMaster’s. There is a high demand for accountants in public service and these demands are increasing as government takes measures to improve the financial control framework. Replacement needs within the industry will create a substantial number of new accounting positions each year. McMaster is one of several schools working to meet this need. The demand for accountants and auditors will be sustained because of complex government regulations and tax laws. Full time positions hired to perform routine accounting-related services will continue.
In a recent survey, 90% of our graduates who responded told us that they believed that their job performance improved as a result of what they learned in the McMaster Accounting Diploma program.
The McMaster Accounting Diploma and the McMaster Certificate in Advanced Accounting prepare aspiring accountants or other finance professionals for an accounting career in Canada or a Canadian accounting designation such as a CPA. This program is offered in-class and online.
